Ingredients
For this taco pizza recipe, I use a pound of ground beef and a packet of taco seasoning to give it that classic taco flavor. The premade pizza crust makes this recipe super convenient for busy weeknights.
White queso and shredded Monterey Jack cheese add a creamy, cheesy element to the taco meat. I finish it off with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced olives, taco sauce, and sour cream for a fresh, tangy touch in every bite.

How to Make Taco Pizza
Preheat your oven to 400ºF.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until there's no more pink left, about 7-10 minutes.
Drain any excess grease, then season the beef with taco seasoning, adding 1-2 tablespoons of water to keep it moist.
Once well mixed, set the skillet aside.
Place your pizza crust on a sheet pan and spread an even layer of white queso over it, making sure to go all the way to the edges.
Now spoon the seasoned taco meat over the crust; you can use the entire pound or save some for another dish.
Sprinkle shredded Monterrey Jack cheese over the meat.
Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Remove from the oven and top with your favorite taco toppings like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced olives, taco sauce, sour cream, and jalapenos.
Finally, slice and enjoy!
Hint: Remember to drain the ground beef once it is cooked to avoid an oily or soggy pizza.
Substitutions & Variations
- Pizza Sauce - Instead of white queso, you can use salsa, refried beans, or enchilada sauce as your base.
- Pizza Dough - I use a premade pizza crust but some taco pizza recipes use tortillas or crescent rolls. Get creative while experimenting!
- More Taco Pizza Toppings - Whatever you love on traditional tacos, add it to your pizza! Try pico de gallo, or green onions. For an added crunch, sprinkle crumbled Doritos over your pizza.
Equipment
To make this taco pizza recipe, I need a skillet for browning the ground beef and a sheet pan for baking the pizza. I also use a spoon to spread the queso and a spatula to mix the taco meat.
Storage
Store cooled, leftover slices in an airtight container, a Ziploc bag, or aluminum foil in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to keep the crust crispy. If you plan to have leftovers, I suggest skipping the cold toppings so the pizza is easy to reheat later.
Top Tip for the Best Taco Pizza
Ensure each element of your pizza is balanced and well-distributed. Spread the white queso to the edges of the crust for consistent flavor in every bite. When adding the taco toppings, arrange them uniformly so that every slice has a perfect mix of flavors and textures.
