How long do I air fry the chicken wings?
One of the best parts about cooking chicken wings in the air fryer is how fast they cook. These wings are done in just over twenty minutes!
So you are going to air fry them twice. The first time, set the timer for 10 minutes.
Once that time is up, flip them over, and air fry an additional 15 minutes. These times have been tried and tested numerous times.
It is guaranteed to make the most crispy and juicy air fried wings.
Tips to make the wings extra crispy in the air fryer:
The secret to making the wings crispy is coating them in olive oil or vegetable oil prior to air frying. Since the wings are not breaded, that oil coating provides a barrier to help create a crisp skin on the wings.
Coat the wings in the oil, then add the seasonings, and mix well. Use your hands, or a pair of tongs to make sure each wing is coated well with the oil and seasonings.
Then you want to place them in the air fryer in one single layer. DO NOT overlap the wings! You may have to cook them in batches.
What if I do not have an air fryer?
If you do not have an air fryer, you can make the wings in the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Follow all of the same instructions as far as seasoning and coating the wings in oil.
If possible, use a broiler pan to bake the wings on.
Spray the pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place the wings in one single layer on a pan. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, flip them over, and bake an additional 10 minutes.
Then you will coat the wings in the hot honey lemon pepper sauce.
Are these hot honey lemon pepper wings spicy?
These lemon pepper wings are not super spicy, but they have a little kick. On a scale of one to ten, ten being the hottest, I would rate these wings a five.
If you are not into spice, cut back on the amount of hot sauce you put into the sauce.
I do not suggest omitting the hot sauce altogether, because that is one of the main flavor components in the sauce. Just cut the amount in half, and you should be okay.
Out of all of the air fryer wing recipes I have tried, this is by far the BEST one!
Making the wings ahead of time:
To make the wings ahead of time follow all of the instructions, but do not toss them in the sauce. If you wish to make them a day or two ahead of time, simply season and air fry. Store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
When you are ready to serve them, place them back in the air fryer on the "reheat function" for 5-7 minutes.
Prepare your hot honey lemon pepper sauce according to the instructions. Take the wings out of the air fryer and toss them in the sauce.
Side dishes to eat with hot honey lemon pepper chicken wings:
Almost any and every side dish pairs well with chicken wings. Here are a few of our favorite sides:
Or, the wings are perfect as a stand-alone appetizer for any gathering or event. They are perfect for gameday!
How to store and reheat leftovers:
It will be a complete shock if you happen to have leftovers. If you do, place them in a container with an airtight lid. Put them in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Once you are ready to eat them, you can place them in the air fryer on "reheat" for 5-7 minutes. Alternatively, you can microwave them on high for one to two minutes.

Is it okay if I use Mike's Hot Honey in place of the hot sauce and honey?
