  • 1 packet Sloppy joe seasoning mix
  • 1 15-16 ounce can Sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, optional, balances the flavor
  • Salt + pepper, to taste
  • 9 count pack Hawaiian slider rolls
  • 4 slices Cheese, colby jack or cheddar are best
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Butter Topping (optional but recommended)

  • 4 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder, or minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Dried parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until the beef is browned and fully cooked (no more pink). Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Stir in the sloppy joe seasoning packet and canned sloppy joe sauce. Add in the brown sugar if you're using it. Mix the seasonings and sauce in well and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Place the bottom half of the slider buns onto a baking dish. Place the sliced cheese in one even layer on top of the buns, try to cover each piece of bread.
  4. Spread the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the rolls, then top it with shredded cheese. Place the top buns over everything.
  5. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush generously over the tops of the rolls.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 5 minutes, then uncover and bake another 5–7 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes, and enjoy!
