Why you will love these Cheesesteak sandwiches
There are so many reasons this recipe is a favorite around my house:
• Quick and easy: ready in about 20 minutes
• Great for leftovers: perfect for using leftover steak
• Family friendly: cheesy, hearty, and satisfying
• Restaurant-style flavor at home
• Simple ingredients: you probably already have at home
This is one of those meals that feels special but is incredibly simple to make.

What you need for the Cheesesteak sandwich:
- Leftover steak, or make the steak fresh. The idea is to use a very thin cut of meat though, (ribeye is the best because it comes out very tender EVERY time)!
- Cheese: mozzerella cheese is amazing for these sandwiches because it gets nice and melty!
- Bell peppers and onions. Slice up some bell peppers and onions. You can use red bell peppers, green bell peppers, or whichever you have on-hand.
- Seasonings: seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, worcestershire sauce

How to make Cheesesteak Sandwiches
The beautiful part about this recipe is that you can use leftover steak, or even chicken. The mozzarella cheese is the perfect pair to this sandwich, it creates that nice cheesy layer that every cheesesteak sandwich needs and deserves. Here’s how you make them:

Season the steak meat and marinate.

Thinly slice bell peppers and onions.

Sautee the onions and peppers in a skillet.

Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet.

Place the mozzarella cheese over the steak and peppers.

Build your cheesesteak sandwiches. Add a sauce: mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard.
Pro Tips
- Slice the steak thin: Thin slices cook quickly and give you that classic cheesesteak texture.
- Don’t overcook the meat: Ribeye cooks fast, so keep an eye on it to avoid drying it out.
- Toast the bread: Lightly toasting the rolls keeps them from getting soggy and adds great texture.
- Switch the cheese: Mozzarella is delicious, but provolone or white American cheese are also great options.

FAQ about Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Yes! While ribeye is traditional, you can also use sirloin, flank steak, or leftover grilled steak.
The steak and vegetables can be cooked ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet before assembling the sandwiches.
Soft hoagie rolls or sub rolls are ideal because they hold the filling without falling apart.

I think the nutrition facts may be off. A meal with steak only has 1 gram of protein?
Yes it definitely is!
Great article post. Thanks Again. Keep writing.
Yes you can pack them in a lunch box, however, they will definitely be cold when it’s time to eat. If you have a warmer lunchbox, or some way to heat them up before eating, that would be ideal.
