Most people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Often times we find ourselves skipping it due to lack of time, or simply not being hungry early in the morning. This peanut butter fruit toast is hearty enough to sustain your hunger well into lunch time.
Mix up the flavors by adding different fruits, or maybe even a different flavored yogurt. Even more, switch out the peanut butter with your favorite nut butter (especially if allergies are involved). There are so many alternatives to peanut butter now-a-day: almond butter, sunflower butter, cashew butter, just to name a few.
How to assemble the toast:
Toast the whole grain bread until the desired crispness is achieved.
Spread the peanut butter on each slice of bread. It is best to start with the peanut butter (or nut butter) first because it acts as a "glue" of sorts. Next add some of the yogurt mixture on top of the peanut butter.
Begin layering your fruit over the peanut butter and yogurt. Once the fruits are layered, drizzle with some honey to round out the flavors, and ENJOY!
