Why you will love this recipe
Whether you are hosting a cookout or a holiday dinner, chances are you are busy bustling around the kitchen or entertaining family and friends.
With just a few ingredients and steps, this is a crowd-pleasing appetizer. Impress your guests with this savory, sweet, unexpected snack!
Ingredients
- Cream cheese: You will need a block of full-fat cream cheese for the best results.
- Croissants: Use refrigerated dough.
- Pepper jelly: There are a variety of flavors and brands to choose from. I prefer the mild tabasco pepper jelly but you can use red or hot if you would like.
- Crackers: You will want something sturdy for this sweet and spicy dip. Use your favorite crackers.
What does pepper jelly cream cheese dip taste like?
You will taste a little hint of spice, but it is jelly, so the spiciness is masked by the sweetness of the jelly. Even more- the cream cheese really cuts through the spiciness, and the spiciness pairs perfectly with the croissant bread and cream cheese.
How to Make Pepper Jelly Cream Cheese Dip
Roll out crescent rolls so that they are flat. Do not separate them. They should be one large sheet of dough.
Then place the block of cream cheese in the center of the dough. Using a spoon, slightly press the cream cheese out so it flattens a bit. Fold up the bottom edge to the center of the cream cheese.
Next, fold the top edge down to the middle. It is okay if it overlaps. That is actually ideal.
Bring the sides into the middle, and gently press all of the dough together to close it up.
Then place the dough in a lightly greased baking dish and bake in the oven on 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes. Slather the pastry with the pepper jelly of your choice.
Finally, serve pepper jelly cream cheese dip with crackers, or eat alone with just the crescent bread.
What are the best crackers for pepper jelly and cream cheese?
Our favorite crackers to go with the pepper jelly cream cheese dip are wheat thins. Simply because they are sturdy crackers, that can hold up to the dipping forces involved in consuming this dip!
Seriously though, you want a sturdy cracker, not one that will easily break when trying to dip into that bread and cheese.
How to Serve Pepper Jelly and Cream Cheese

Made this dip for years minus the Crescent dough. Softened cream cheese and lots of pepper jelly on a plate or shallow dish. Microwave for a few seconds. Crackers and you're good to go!
